The NICO Group has reaffirmed its long-standing partnership
with the Information as Communications Technology Association of Malawi (ICTAM)
by supporting the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Expo with K7
million.
The group first supported the expo in 2018,
through its subsidiary, NICO Technologies.
NICO Technologies Chief Executive Officer,
Clarence Gama, said the group is proud to be associated with the expo as it
provides a platform for ICT players to showcase their services.
“We live in a world that is rapidly evolving and
constantly demanding technological solutions to modern day problems. As a
leading ICT service provider in Malawi we believe this EXPO provides the right
platform to not only showcase, but encourage sharing of innovative ideas”
Gama said.
He further encouraged ICT players to remain
resilient.
“With each new day comes a new development that
the ICT industry in Malawi can leverage on. We need to stay on top of the game
if we are to remain relevant,” Gama added.
ICTAM Vice President, Andrew Kasasi, expressed
appreciation for NICO’s support.
“We don’t take this assistance for granted
because it will go a long way in making sure we hold a successful expo. These
three days will be beneficial in making sure our technology services are
developed further,” Kasisi said.
President Lazarus Chakwera will be present as
Guest of Honor at the expo being held under the theme ‘Mobilising Business with
Digital Technologies beyond the Covid-19 Crisis’.
The expo, which was initially set for August,
will be held from 27-28 September 2021, at the BICC in Lilongwe.
